Postponing(for now)
I've been very ambitious with this project, and while I want to keep working on it, I've been disappointed in it. It doesn't feel fun to play as it is right now, and games should be fun. So while I love the world and prototype of this game, I just don't have the skill to do it justice just yet, and there's nothing wrong with that.
The story that's come from this game will still be crafted. The world of The Cloaked One will be explored, but I'm just not ready to make a big and complicated game like that yet. With the skill I have now, Eternal Collapse would just be a disgrace, full of bugs, uninteresting dialog, plot holes, and downright unfun gameplay.
I think that for now, I'm going to reduce the scope even more. I'm going to try to get into some game jams, and overall improve my creative skills. I've found that I have been copying the things I like the most, and while that isn't bad, it isn't what I aspire to be, and it's not helping me in my overall goals.
Hopefully after some more experience making games, I will be ready to take on an rpg, but that is not within my grasp right now. I vow to come back to this project, but for now I will abandon it.
